Headquarters of the Laumann Group in 1981
Company history

It all started with a visionary idea

I kept my eyes and ears open to see where I might have an opportunity.
Heinrich Laumann, company founder
Because the company where Heinrich Laumann was working in 1968 was not making any progress, the sales manager went in search of his own opportunities. He was lucky, because shortly afterwards a huge opportunity arose for him.

Courage and foresight laid the foundation

In April 1969, Heinrich Laumann met Ewald Venhues in Sendenhorst, who had founded the company "VEKAPLAST" with a partner and was now looking for a buyer for the plastic production. At the time, VEKAPLAST produced plastic roller shutter profiles. A few days later, Heinrich Laumann took over the company with eight employees and a turnover of DM 1.7 million. The beginning of an international success story.

Future needs origin

The company headquarters are still located in Sendenhorst in Westphalia today. It was here that Heinrich Laumann laid the foundations for an unprecedented entrepreneurial success story with his visionary ideas and foresight.

How it all began

Heinrich Laumann took over the company VEKAPLAST in Sendenhorst, which manufactured roller shutters and building profiles with only 8 employees. Heinrich Laumann on the other hand focused on PVC windows as a product of the future. He quickly took initiatives to develop the first window profile system.
